Japanese stone lantern, Toro (Doro)
Japanese traditional outdoor lighting equipment made of stone. Originally used for lanterns in shrines and temples, it has also been used for ornamental purposes in tea gardens and general gardens since the Momoyama period (1573-1603).

Kasuga-doro (Kasuga Type)
A lantern with a circular rod and a hexagonal firebox. It is called Kasuga-doro (Kasuga Type) because it is often used at Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara. It also features a sculpture related to Kasuga Taisha Shrine on the surface of the firebox.
